What to Add to Your Christian Life to Bear Fruit for GOD
April 13, 2025 · Mr. Christian Kamgno
Introduction:
When we bear fruit, our joy is complete, and we bring GOD's joy to others. GOD uses us so that we may be a Blessing.
Like the disciples when Jesus was on earth as a human being, being in GOD's presence is not enough — we must also ask that our joy be made complete in HIM.
2 Peter 1:1-9
1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: 2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.
Spiritual blindness leads to confusion, then to misalignment from GOD's Eternal Plan, then to more confusion.
In the preceding Bible passage, the apostle Peter tells us that Jesus Christ has provided everything for us and is the author of the wonderful promises we have in GOD.
Now, in order to fully live out everything GOD has provided for us in Jesus Christ, we must make efforts in:
-
Purity
-
Knowledge, or understanding
-
The Christian life in every area is not limited to prayer, reading the Word of GOD, and personal sanctification. GOD also calls us to take dominion on the earth.
-
David said to GOD: "My times are in Your hands."
-
To live a life of sanctification, we must pray a great deal, so as not to fall into temptation.
-
To deal with opposition, we must fast and pray, and then your light will shine like the dawn (read Isaiah), and demons cannot resist it (read Matthew);
-
If you want faith, listen to the Word of GOD and to testimonies (read Revelation 5 and Romans 10);
-
If you want to see THE POWER OF GOD at work in your life, you must speak in TONGUES, for you build yourself up (read 1 Corinthians 12-14);
-
If you want to live at peace with your peers, you must be gentle in spirit, for blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth (read Matthew 5);
-
To prosper financially as well, beyond prayer, fasting, and studying the Word of GOD, you must also think through and study the options available to you. You must follow the physical and spiritual principles that govern finances, such as:
-
Work;
-
Tithing;
-
Helping people in need, especially within our own families;
-
-
-
The knowledge we have access to is the key out of our troubles.
John 8:31-32
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
THE SECRET TO PROSPERITY IS DOING WHAT GOD ASKS YOU TO DO.
-
Self-Control
-
Steadfastness
-
Godliness
-
Brotherly Affection
-
Charity
We must do everything to put GOD first in our lives, even when it comes to our finances and our relationships.
One source of our problems as we walk with GOD is looking to man rather than to GOD.
Matthew 13:44-46
44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
If we do not take seriously our own responsibility in receiving GOD's Promises in our lives — beyond fasting, prayer, and meditating on the Word of GOD — we will not fully enjoy everything GOD has for us, His Great plans for our lives. This applies to our ministry, our career(s), our relationships, our finances, and every other opportunity in our lives.
Tithing has two functions:
-
Putting GOD FIRST in our lives;
-
Teaching us good stewardship that honors GOD.
-
The tithe redeems the rest for GOD;
Tithing matters because otherwise we are not putting GOD first in our finances, which dishonors Him. The same is true of every other area of our lives.
In Matthew 13, Jesus teaches us that the kingdom of GOD involves risk — a great capital investment that can even be financial (in the case of tithes and offerings) — but GOD guarantees that it will be profitable, for without faith it is impossible to please GOD (read Hebrews).
Without living out GOD's Will in every area of our lives, we will be barren, and we will have nothing to give the world when it comes to THE KINGDOM OF GOD, for one can only give what one has received.
Question: what are you doing today for the next 5 years of your life?
For if you do not sow today, you will not reap tomorrow.
Consider the story of the late President Jimmy Carter, who, in preparing for his presidential candidacy, studied his environment and adjusted to the political climate — and once his candidacy succeeded, he radically changed the country for the Glory of GOD.
When Joshua and Israel went to attack Jericho, even though GOD had already given them the territory, they still had to send spies to study the land.
THE GRACE OF GOD amplifies our efforts toward success, like David's stones and Moses' staff. Those who survive and succeed through crises are those who have reserves of what they accumulated during the good times, like Joseph in Egypt.
Ecclesiastes 9:10-11
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going. 11 Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
While you work hard, THE LORD, YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER, will arrange your success. HE will open a door for you, even from the little you do.
Read the Word of GOD, pray, fast, live a life of repentance, study finances, build good relationships, honor those GOD HAS PLACED around you, and persevere in what is GOOD; Honor GOD in Everything and HE WILL BLESS YOU!
KEEP WORKING, PERSEVERE, FOR YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER SEES YOU AND HE WILL HONOR YOUR PERSEVERANCE AND YOUR EFFORTS. HALLELUJAH!!!
